![]() Hammerfell is a massive region, covered by vast mountain ranges, jungles, grasslands, and deserts. Once a province of the Empire of Tamriel until the Great War, Hammerfell became a sovereign nation in 4E 175 after its rejection of the White-Gold Concordat. Unprepared for harsh desert life, these refugees would turn to the main character to help them settle, as well as traveling back to cure the plague.Hammerfell, also known as Volenfell in Dwemeris, Hegathe in Aldmeris, and Deathland in Nedic, is a vast province in the west of Tamriel, bordered by High Rock to the north, Skyrim to the northeast and Cyrodiil to the east and southeast. Presumably, the prisoner we traditionally start off as will have to escape the afflicted areas, before joining refugees swarming to Hammerfell. ![]() ![]() There was a quest in Skyrim where worshippers of the Daedric Prince Peryite were afflicted with his pestilence (a plague that left them vomiting poison and with red boils all over their flesh) and tasked with spreading it all across the world.Īs that plague is supposed to have started in High Rock, followers of that train of thought believe that it will be the backstory behind The Elder Scrolls VI: Redfall. Some have taken that name a little further though. If this is the title of the game, then it seemingly confirms that we'll be visiting High Rock or Hammerfell, if not both. Bringing to mind both Hammerfell and the native Redguard, as well as the Daggerfall Covenant that High Rock is a part of, the name seems too much like an Elder Scrolls' name not to the subtitle of The Elder Scrolls VI.
